We are excited to share that we are on the verge of locating the historic Bates House privy, a potential treasure trove of artifacts that could offer us a unique glimpse into the daily lives of Macktown’s early residents. If successful, this discovery could reveal items like pottery, glassware, buttons, and old tools, each telling a story of the past.
We invite you to be a part of this exciting archaeological journey! Join us from September 1st through the 7th, between 9 AM and 4 PM, as we work to uncover this piece of history. Your participation could help us better understand the personal histories and social dynamics of the 19th-century Macktown community.
